General Information

Dalarna is thé provence in Sweden with an abundance of nature, culture and tradition.
From all over the world visitors come to Dalarna to walk, canoe, fish, bike or mountainbike in the wonderfull nature or to watch elks, beavers, birds or other wildlife. In this provence , bears, wolves and lynxes still live. With a bit of luck you will find traces of these impressive animals. Because Dalarna is so extensive you will meet almost no other visitors during one of your journeys. The region is known for its fishingwaters. In the clear lakes and streams there's an abundance of fish. Pike, salmon, trout and eal are some examples of fish that can be cought here.

Johannisholm

In the middle of the beautiful nature, directly next to the lake Örklingen lies our camping, Johannisholm. The peacefully situated camping is named after the settlement which father Johannis once built there.
The camping coveres about 5 ha . and has space for a maximum of a 65 places. You can stay directly next to the water or in the forestarea. Choose your own place, there's plenty of space. Besides, all places are provided with electricity.
Don't you want to spend the night in a caravan, tent or camper, then try one of the ‘stuga's'. These are small Swedish cottages. We have 10 completely furnished four- and sixpersons ‘stuga's'. Click on the foto for the facilities in each “stuga”.

Rest nicely

On the camping are, at the bank of the lake, placed a few barbeques and picknicktables which you can use. There is a central place where you can make a nice fire. A nice place to share your holidayexperiences with other campingguests. For the little kids there's a playground.

Good sanitary provisions

Of course the camping has good sanitary provisions (with showers and toilets) and the means to do the dishes. For whom wants to wash, there are washing machines, a dryer and means to iron.

Nice food

Don't want to cook? Then visit our cozy restaurant with a breathtaking view over the lake. As well on the terrace as inside you can enjoy the nice dishes.
Of course you can also drink something there or talk with others about the great day you have just had.
In the kiosk at the reception of the camping you can buy provisions, icecream, souvenirs and fishingcards. Also, you can order freshly baked bread which you can pick up the next morning.

Having dinner at a special way? On the camping is a cozy grill hut from Lapland with a beautiful view over the lake, where you prepare your own meal at a traditional way. You can even sleep in this hut if you want! The banks are covered with reindeer skin which is really comfortable to sit on.

Unique paintings.

In Dalarna, the art, the grafts and the old traditions are everywhere. You can find them in unique paintings in the old farmhouses and in the abundently coloured feasts, like the midsummerfeasts with dances and the traditional musicfestivals. These traditions are very common for the Swedish but very surprising for those who don't know them.
The middle of Sweden has a landclimate, because of which the summers are very dry and licely warm. The evenings are very long because the sun hardly sets here.
